Congressional APP Challenge

I am excited to announce to the students of Florida’s 5th Congressional district that the Congressional App Challenge, a competition designed to encourage student participation in computer science and coding, will take place from May 1st to October 30th, 2025.

This nationwide challenge allows students to compete against their peers by creating an application or “app” for mobile, tablet, or computer devices. The U.S. House of Representatives recognizes the immense value our students gain from technological education and want to encourage active engagement with technology. As such, the Congressional App Challenge was created to highlight the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and encourages students to engage in these fields.

How to Register, Create, and Submit!

The Congressional App Challenge is open to all students in the Fifth Congressional District of Florida either individually or in groups of up to four. Students entering the competition must first register and then submit their app on https://www.congressionalappchallenge.us/ during the Competition Submission Period between May 1st, 2025 and October 30th, 2025 12:00pm EST.

A panel of expert judges will judge each submission subject to three metrics: Quality of the idea, including creativity and originality; implementation of the idea, including user experience and design; and demonstrated excellence of coding and programming skills.

For more information, please visit the official Congressional App Challenge website.

The 2023 Winner of FL-05's App Challenge was Ms. Sara Park of The Bolles School.”
