Congressman Rutherford Announces Annual Congressional Art Competition

April 11, 2017

JACKSONVILLE, FL – Today, Congressman Rutherford invited students across Northeast Florida to participate in the annual Congressional Art Competition for 2017. The 2017 Artistic Discovery Contest is open to all high school students who reside in the 4th congressional district. All entries must be original in design, concept, and execution, with open categories such as painting, drawing, print, and more.

Congressman John Rutherford said, "Walking through the Capitol and seeing art that depicts the United States through the point of view of our nation's students is amazing. I look forward to seeing the work of our Northeast Florida students and celebrating their accomplishments."

Winners will be chosen by a panel of art professionals and there will be a reception for all the students who enter, as well as their teachers and families. The deadline to enter this year's competition is by 5:00pm on Monday, May 1st.
