As we monitor Hurricane Irma, I urge every Floridian to prepare for potential life threatening impacts of the storm. Sit down with your family and prepare an emergency plan, including special needs family members, grandparents, and pets.
Prepare a hurricane kit with necessary supplies, including seven days worth of water, non-perishable foods, medicine, a battery operated radio, and batteries. Be sure to charge your devices. Listen to your local officials and monitor local weather updates. Know your evacuation routes. If you are given a mandatory evacuation order, evacuate immediately.
