President Biden Has Made Our Nation Weak

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman John Rutherford (FL-05) released the following statement following President Biden's State of the Union address:

"President Biden just painted a rosy picture of a reality that doesn’t exist for everyday Americans. The truth is, he has made our nation weak at home and in the eyes of our enemies abroad. Bidenomics is failing families, businesses, and anyone trying to buy a home. As Americans struggle under record inflation and interest rates soar, the president’s plan is to “tax the rich.” This does nothing to lower grocery prices or mortgage rates, and instead only grows the federal coffers to pay for the president’s priorities.

"No one is happier with President Biden’s performance than our foreign adversaries. Major conflicts in Europe and the Middle East have our military on high alert, and Iran-backed terrorists target U.S. forces daily. Three American soldiers are now dead, and the president’s idea to bring peace to the region is to build Hamas a port off the coast of Gaza. This port will simply serve as a new target for terrorists and is nothing more than an attempt to placate the left.

"At home, America is not the secure nation that it was just three years ago. President Biden lets a flood of illegals pour into communities across the U.S. and has no plan to stop it. Since January 2021, 8 million illegals have been encountered crossing the border illegally and 3.3 million illegal aliens have been released into the U.S. with little idea of who they are. This administration’s policy: if they can’t be identified, just let them in anyway. Over 300 known terrorists have crossed our border, but that’s just who we know about. Violent criminals and enemies of America live among us due to the failures of this president and the open border policies he put into place. Just ask the families of Laken Riley and Francisco Cuellar."
