Rutherford Reappointed to House Appropriations Committee

January 28, 2021

Congressman Rutherford will sit on three subcommittees

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman John Rutherford (FL-04) was reappointed to the House Appropriations Committee, where he has served since 2018. He will sit on three subcommittees with jurisdictions significant to Northeast Florida: Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, Homeland Security, and Transportation and Housing and Urban Development.

"I am incredibly pleased to learn today that I will be able to continue serving my constituents on the Appropriations Committee," said Rutherford. "During my time on the Committee, it's been an honor to support successful federal projects across the country and help secure hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding for Northeast Florida. I remain committed to safeguarding taxpayer dollars, eliminating waste, and working in a bipartisan way to support our nation's priorities."

The House Appropriations Committee sets the federal government's discretionary spending priorities by allocating funds to all federal agencies and conducting critical oversight of each department and program.
