Washington, D.C. –  Congressman John Rutherford (FL-04) took to the House floor in response to Democrats in Congress calling the border situation a “Manufactured Crisis.”Rutherford voted to fully fund government operations and much-needed border security measures on December 20, 2018.

Congressman Rutherford said:

“For my friends on the other side of the aisle calling this a ‘Manufactured Crisis,’ they know this isn’t about the $5 billion for the wall. In fact, most of them, at one time or another, have already voted to fund a wall. To them, it’s really about not wanting to support our president. It’s about being a part of a resistance movement.

And if you want to talk about a ‘Manufactured Crisis,’ I can point you in the right direction. Because it’s manufactured in Central America. It’s manufactured in South America. And it’s being manufactured by drug cartels to be trafficked north and smuggled across the southern border into our communities.”
