WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman John Rutherford (R-FL-04) announced the reintroduction of H.R. 1022, the Puppies Assisting Wounded Servicemembers (PAWS) Act of 2021, which will increase access to Service Dogs for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The PAWS Act establishes a competitive grant program through the Department of Veterans Affairs for organizations, such as K9s for Warriors in Ponte Vedra, to pair Service Dogs with veterans suffering from PTSD.

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– Today, Representatives John Rutherford (R-FL) and Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY) relaunched the Congressional Crohn's and Colitis Caucus in the 117th Congress. Representatives Rutherford and Maloney will serve as co-chairs of this bipartisan caucus dedicated to educating Congress and the American public on Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– Today, U.S. Representatives John Rutherford (FL-4), Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25), Ted Deutch (FL-22), and Stephanie Murphy (FL-7) reintroduced the Luke and Alex School Safety Act, the House companion to a Senate Bill introduced by Ron Johnson (R-WI), Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Rick Scott (R-FL). This legislation codifies into law a federal clearinghouse that categorizes, assesses, and shares best practices for school safety measures and identifies the resources necessary to implement them.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman John Rutherford (FL-04) was reappointed to the House Appropriations Committee, where he has served since 2018. He will sit on three subcommittees with jurisdictions significant to Northeast Florida: Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, Homeland Security, and Transportation and Housing and Urban Development.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Trump has signed into law the Crisis Stabilization and Community Reentry Act of 2020, a bill introduced in the House by Representative John Rutherford (R-FL) and Representative David Trone (D-MD). This new law expands access to mental health services for individuals leaving the prison system, providing a "Continuity of Care" for those at risk of recidivism.

JACKSONVILLE, FL – Last night, Representative John Rutherford (FL-04) announced this year's nominees to the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), United States Military Academy (USMA), and the United States Naval Academy (USNA).
