WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressmen John Rutherford (FL-04) and Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), bipartisan co-chairs of the Congressional Lung Cancer Caucus, introduced legislation to designate November as Lung Cancer Awareness Month. While Lung Cancer Awareness Month has traditionally taken place in November, this legislation in Congress would formally recognize its observance during that month.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed legislation, first introduced by Congressman John Rutherford (FL-04) and Congressman Michael Waltz (FL-06), to name a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) clinic in St. Johns County after Army Private First Class Leo C. Chase, Jr., the first man from St. Johns County to be killed in the Vietnam War. The new VA outpatient clinic will be designated as the "Leo C. Chase, Jr. Department of Veterans Affairs Clinic.''

This legislation, introduced by Representative Doug Collins (R-GA), would grant authority to the president to place sanctions on the Chinese Communist Party if they do not cooperate with an investigation into the origins of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Released annually by the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy and The Lugar Center, the Bipartisan Index measures how well members of Congress work across party lines. In their newly released report, Rutherford ranks 41st out of 437 members of the House and 2nd out of Florida.
