Jacksonville, FL – Today, Congressman John Rutherford (FL-04) joined the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Ben Carson at Sulzbacher's EnVision Center, which provides supportive services for the homeless population in Northeast Florida.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman John Rutherford (FL-04) is now an original cosponsor of the COVID-19 Accountability Act. This legislation, introduced by Representative Doug Collins (R-GA), would grant authority to the president to place sanctions on the Chinese Communist Party if they do not cooperate with an investigation into the origins of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Released annually by the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy and The Lugar Center, the Bipartisan Index measures how well members of Congress work across party lines. In their newly released report, Rutherford ranks 41st out of 437 members of the House and 2nd out of Florida.

This bipartisan legislation is the third economic assistance package approved by Congress to maintain stability and fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representatives John Rutherford (FL-04), Derek Kilmer (WA-06), and Jaime Herrera Beutler (WA-03) introduced H.R. 6207, the Coronavirus Worker Relief Act. This new bipartisan, bicameral legislation would provide disaster unemployment assistance to people who are unable to work due to the current coronavirus outbreak following an emergency declaration by the president.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representatives John Rutherford (FL-04), Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25), Ted Deutch (FL-22), and Stephanie Murphy (FL-07) introduced the bipartisan and bicameral Luke and Alex School Safety Act of 2019. This bill, named after Luke Hoyer and Alex Schachter who were killed at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, would help local school districts access federal school safety resources by creating a federal clearinghouse of best practices and federal assistance.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressmen John Rutherford (FL-04) and TJ Cox (CA-21) sent a letter to the Department of Veterans Affairs to ask for more information on the VA's long-term care plans, including assisted living programs, for veterans living with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Veterans who have suffered severe TBI often face challenges with finding adequate care when they return home.
ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA. – Today, Northeast Florida Congressmen John Rutherford (FL-04), Al Lawson (FL-05), and Michael Waltz (FL-06) announce their introduction of H.R. 4542, the Nation's Oldest Port National Heritage Area Act, to designate portions of Nassau, Duval, St. Johns, and Flagler Counties as a National Heritage Area (NHA). NHAs, which are designated by Congress and protected by the National Park Service, recognize important natural, cultural, and historic landscapes and help celebrate the nation's diverse heritage.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today on National POW/MIA Recognition Day, Congressman John Rutherford (FL-04) and Congressman Al Lawson (FL-05) introduced the National POW/MIA Memorial and Museum Act of 2019. This legislation would designate the POW/MIA Memorial and Museum at Cecil Field as the National POW/MIA Memorial and Museum to honor all former prisoners of war and those still missing in action.
